Outside of diving, Xanthe only has Julia ~ her bestie since Primary School and fellow princess-practitioner.
Diving practice and competitions don’t leave much time for anything else but Jules has always understood.
When Hiroko appears, their friendship is in jeopardy.
One Saturday, Xanthe has no diving or comps, so skateboards to Julia’s house.
On the way, Xanthe falls on her wrist ~ right in front of Felix! He’s at David’s place for a band practice but totally ignores her, even though he’s Xanthe’s crush.
Will Xanthe’s sore wrist stop her diving or is music in her future?
But Felix is Julia’s jazz friend. He rescued her from drowning in the Derwent on a school band tour of Tassie.
She’s a gifted musician wondering if her future holds classical or jazz. Julia’s wants to stay at Malvern High leaving Xanthe to finish Year 8 at Mountain View alone.
Julia gets to play with the WA Youth Jazz Orchestra in Perth AND watch Xanthe dive
Like Xanthe and Julia, Felix is bullied and not at all sure of his future.
Is Felix good enough?
Does Julia choose jazz like her dad or her mum’s classical dreams?
Will Julia forgive Xanthe finding a new friend and make some of her own?
Can two princess-wannabes stay friends as they follow their dreams?
